Monica Nelson Weekdays 6am - Noon

Monica Nelson : Weekdays 6am - Noon
Monica Nelson is a 25 year veteran broadcast personality, first cracking a mic (in a train depot turned radio station) on the prairies of South Dakota. After completing her Journalism degree and stints in Oklahoma and Chicago, she has called Arizona “home” for two decades. You may have heard her voice as you wait on-hold throughout the valley, viewed snippets of her on 3TV, ABC 15, Fox 10, 12 News, AZ’s Morning Scramble, but, depending on your involvement in sports activities, you may also recognize her as one of the ‘overly enthusiastic’ mothers yelling from quite a few sidelines too. She is a proud mom of 3 children, Zach, Eli and Sophia. Living in the desert continues to thrill her, as most of her 8 siblings continue to shovel their winter snow before hopping a plane to her place. Hiking and biking are 2 of her favorite outdoor activities, and she is a little “home” obsessed from decorating to renovating, she tries it all! Her husband doesn’t question her “sometimes outrageous” ideas and is quite handy, so that’s a definite ‘plus’ (in project completion and their marriage as well)! Reading everything she gets her hands on is also a passion along with volunteering and public speaking for numerous children’s, women’s and health organizations. Connecting with listeners and viewers is her ultimate goal – and learning a little something on a daily basis is the cherry on top!

Brian Hammer Weekdays Noon - 5pm

Brian Hammer : Weekdays Noon - 5pm
Hey Phoenix! My name is Hammer, because let’s face it, a first AND last name are SO Mid-Century…anyway, If the name rings a bell then that means you’ve probably heard my squabble on other stations here in the valley, and BOY am I happy to be providing said squabble to you once again every weekday from 12p-5p on The Oasis …& if my name doesn’t ring a bell…seriously, you’re not missing much. A few short facts about myself…I come from Italian heritage & was born in Chicago…so yes, if you stuff just about anything into a deep dish pan I’ll eat it & GO BEARS! Lived in NYC for just about half my life, which hopefully explains my colorful language, love me some craft brew, my momma’s homemade sauce, beef sandwiches (with spicy Giardinara please), a good bowl of pasta, coffee, watching movies, and music…music…lots and LOTS of music! Which I’ll be providing a TON every weekday, lets do this! Favorite Quote: ‘As a wise man once said, April Fools Day is for amateurs. You NEVER need an excuse to mess with people’s head’

Dave Cruiser Weekdays 5pm - 8pm

Dave Cruiser : Weekdays 5pm - 8pm
So, who’s this Dave Cruiser guy? How long have  you been in the Valley?  35 years, born and raised! What do you love about living in the Valley?  Let me count the reasons:
  1. Ok, it’s brown, I know…but the desert is beautiful
  2. My 4 favorite sports teams…Coyotes, Suns, Cardinals, and D-Backs
  3. You can’t shovel sunshine
  4. Arizona is a major tour stop for great bands!
Why do you love working at the Oasis?  To escape!!  Things get hectic and sideways in life sometimes, and it’s nice to be able to help someone feel a slice of calmness and happiness throughout their day. Or a better way to say it is, “to share a lite & refreshing experience” with them.   What do you do outside of the Oasis?  Outside of my love of radio, my favorite things include my two dogs, Nash & Rosie; cooking (mostly because I like to eat!); riding bikes when the weather permits, like when it’s not 120 degrees! Since you’re a radio guy, who’s your all-time favorite artist?  It’s got to be Elton John.  All of his songs evoke an emotional reaction, and they’re fun to sing along to in the car at the top of my lungs…when I’m alone…cause no one wants to hear me sing… What do you do outside of radio?  My favorite way to spend my free time is to enjoy a whiskey, watch a game, see a show.  As long as it’s with people I love, I’m good.

Lu Valentino

Lu Valentino :
Lu WHO? How long have you lived in the Valley?  This time?  J  Just returned recently from working radio in Denver.  I’m originally from Northern New Jersey and lived in LA, but my favorite place is here, I’ve been in and out of Phoenix since 1998! What do you like about living here?  To literally see it grow into this sexy metropolitan city!  ‘Cause that’s what I’m used to. What do you do outside of radio…you must have a real life!  My “brain-love” as a comedy writer and digital media director for 11 years.  My “heart-love”, as a special advocate for the Child Abuse Task Force and a CASA (GAL). Since radio is in your blood, who is your favorite artist(s)?  My all time favorite artist is P!nk and the Red Hot Chili Peppers!  Both artists can burp for 3:35 seconds and I’d still listen to them! How do you spend your free time?  My favorite ways are swimming, yoga, cooking, riding my mountain bike on rugged Valley trails, watching baseball and being near to my longtime Valley friends and extended family.  But I really spend most of my free time loving on my two adopted Yorkies, LuVee and Cherish.  Oh yeah, and making strangers laugh. Other favorites.  Favorite actor:  Tom Hanks, because he’s THAT good!  Hollywood crush:  Charlie Hunnam, because…well, he’s beautiful eye candy! Unknow tidbit about Lu.  She’s an accomplished former gymnast and dance choreographer. NOW YOU KNOW WHO LU IS!
